We all love music. Music helps cure
breakups, encourage, inspire and motivate us. We will always have music in our
lives and songs in our souls. With that being said, we also have our favorite
artist who produce these hits for us. Although some like Rihanna, have come out
and bluntly told us that she is not a role model, we can’t stop our children
and others who idolize these artists from trying to be like them.
I can remember growing up, I had my
pin ups from the magazine of my favorite artist. I would read the articles
about the stars and be happy that I was a part of their world. Back then we
didn’t have all the modern technology, so sex still sold, but we weren’t
hearing of the idiosyncrasies of the artist, because mainstream was a little
more discreet. Hell Whitney was snorting under our noses as we danced to her
hit “dance with somebody”.
Now with bloggers, people yelling
WORLDSTAR after taping a fight and Instagram, it’s a lot harder NOT to be
caught with your pants down. We know everyone’s business, just log on to T.M.Z.
Now our idols, artists and everyday human beings like you and me are being
monitored from when they leave the house, to when they come home. It’s a
win-lose situation with artists because they need a certain amount of exposure
making their lives seem appealing.
Let’s look at what’s in these drugs
that our FAVORITE RAPPERS, FAVORITE RAPPER(JEZZY) IS doing. When Molly 1st
came out I was like “oh” another name for X or a Skittle (Cleveland term), but
my good friend had to tell me, “No sweetheart, Molly is different, as she
sweated,” so I had to look up what I was rapping along to. I came across
an interesting article written by Marina Csomo(2012), from C.N.N.
To sum the article up, I felt like I
wanted to be a supplier of Molly only because she basically wrote that the
D.E.A.,who calls it MDM, wasn’t really worried about the drug since the deaths
from Molly are so low. Unlike Ecstasy, molly is the pure, the real deal
Holyfield, but are you really getting pure stuff? The DEA says Molly is
supplied from Asia, Canada, even the Netherlands. Whens the last time you went
to those places to see if you were getting the real thing. Do you consider a
drug with Methylenedioxymethamphetamine cool? Or do you crave the bitter taste?
Again the D.E.A. says it’s a
Schedule 1 controlled substance, which means it’s being studied as a possible
treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. But like all medicine or drugs
comes complications like [dehydration and exhaustion, to more severe side
effects such as hyperthermia, seizures, electrolyte abnormalities, cardiac
episodes and comas] can occur.
And 17 states have legalized
it for medical use.
I know, I know the argument is
it amplifies everything, gets your serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine up
sending your brain unto a lovely word full of birds chirping. Hell it’s also
better than loud cause you can’t smell it, and you don’t look like a potential
crack head snorting lines off a plate passed around, with a case of crocked
mouth, so why not pop a Molly?
According to the Urban Dictionary,
Lean, coming from Houston, Texas, is made up OF:
-Promethazine w/Codeine VC
<- Sizzurp (active ingredient)
-Original Sprite Soda <- Mixing
ingredient (although different flavors of sprite are now used, such as sprite
remix)
-Jolly rancher candy <- Flavor
additive]
-One Styrofoam cup
This popular mixture also causes
euphoric feeling BUT codeine makes you drowsy and is used in pain killers which
are highly addictive.
Whew!!!!!! With all that knowledge
being dropped on you, can you imagine someone who pops a Molly, drink sizzurp,
smokes some loud and drink? I’m not pointing fingers, claiming to
be perfect or trying to persuade you to sell IT or NOT DO IT, all I’m doing is
telling you the hard facts and let you determine what to do with your body
yourself.
Don’t shoot the messenger,
E
